Reflection on Da Word- graffiti artist

Before you get going on blogging about technology and its relationship to popular/sub popular culture, I'd like you to briefly reflect on the Da Word graffiti artist by Tonouchi. What isues do you think he raises? What issues did you like or dislike about what he says? What did you think about the language he uses and what questions did this reading raise for you?

Underground Art

The Word Graffiti by Tonouchi raises some issues on how Graffiti is a form of art that some people take as vandalism and how it is different than other art and not that many people appreciate it. The issue I liked that he brought up was when he was with the admissions guy from the school and he starts telling the guy of his art and how people take it as vandalism because they don’t appreciate that type of art. I also like that he stayed doing what he likes doing which is art. The language used in this reading is not Standard English it is his own Hawaiian dialect which makes the reading more interesting to read. One of the questions this reading raises for me is what was his mom’s reaction when he called her after the interview with the school was over?
